Ocorrências de animais sinantrópicos em áreas urbanas das diferentes fitofisionomias do estado do Paraná, de 2017 a 2022

Abstract

With the continuous advance of urbanization and the transformation of natural ecosystems into artificial environments, the presence of wild species adapted to urban habitats has increased. Interactions between synanthropic animals and humans range from peaceful coexistence to conflict situations, including potential health risks and incidents. The capture and removal of synanthropic animals have therefore become essential to ensure the safety of both humans and wildlife, with the Paraná Fire Department playing a key role in this activity. This study conducts a qualitative and quantitative survey of synanthropic fauna captured across different phytophysiognomies in eight municipalities of Paraná between 2017 and 2022, using data from the Fire Department’s Occurrence Records System. The objectives are to quantify and qualify occurrences, map density and spatial distribution, analyze conditioning factors, and assess annual variation in records. The methodology encompasses a literature review on synurbization and invasive exotic fauna, analysis of capture and removal data, and spatial analysis using QGIS and Excel software. The municipalities of Ponta Grossa and Maringá recorded the highest number of occurrences, totaling 1,370 cases. This study enhances the understanding of the distribution and dynamics of synanthropic fauna and contributes to the development of more effective strategies for managing these species in urban environments
