Abstract
This dissertation investigates the relationship between cyberbullying and mental health
during adolescence, analyzing the psychological impacts of the phenomenon and the
governmental interventions available to address it in Brazil. Based on research, it was
observed that the growing digital connectivity has amplified the challenges faced by
adolescents, making them more susceptible to mental disorders such as anxiety and
depression as a result of virtual violence. In this context, the objective was to identify
the governmental responses and actions aimed at combating cyberbullying, already
recognizing the effects of this phenomenon on adolescents' mental health. Through an
integrative literature review and Bardin’s Content Analysis of relevant documents, the
possible impacts of cyberbullying on adolescents' emotional well-being were analyzed,
as well as the preventive and intervention measures adopted by the Federal
Government to tackle this issue. The findings indicate that, although there are
governmental and educational initiatives focused on raising awareness and combating
cyberbullying, challenges remain in the implementation and/or effectiveness of
protective strategies and psychological support for victims. It is concluded that
promoting mental health in the digital age requires integrated efforts among the State,
society, and digital platforms to ensure safer and more inclusive online environments
for youth development.
