Uma geografia nua: carne e quiasmas nos espaços performáticos de uma modelo vivo

Abstract

This dissertation describes a geographical carnality that is configured by beings in a life modelling situation, which is plotted and produced in/on the merleaupontian chiasma. The chiasma is understood as a unity by the opposition. Our gaze opted to inhabit the phenomenon from the experience of the researcher who is a life modelling. Therefore, geography woven into the lived experiential of a life modelling with its intentional encounters with other life modellings is unveiled configuring a 'Naked Geography'. There were 19 life modellings and 16 participants in the life modelling sessions participated in this scientific experiment. The fieldwork was configured in the life modelling experience of the researcher, by focus groups after the sessions and by the models' responses to a semi-structured questionnaire. What appeared from the answers of the models were existential measures coming from spatial experiences, in a relationship with the other and with space, connected with thoughts and feelings, meetings and mismatches and their meanings. The state of presence is fundamental in this artistic work. It is geographic because it provides contact with the world around, establishing as essential the relationship with oneself, with the other and with space. There is a geographic space filled with humanity, drawn by the carnality of the space-time trajectories of the participants of the life modelling sessions, that is, a performative space produced by sharing, by the “interlingual conversation” between these beings in a situation. This performativity comes from a shared sensitive world that we can see in the life modelling experience. It elucidates how our human spatiality happens. Our becoming as individuals, just like this dissertation, it is done by doing.
