Desmistificando a ciência do cotidiano com o uso de material midiático: divulgação científica em uma comunidade

Abstract

The present work refers to the influence of the scientific divulgation in non-formal teaching environments, considering that science is part of our daily life even without realizing. Thus, it is possible to deal with various subjects in the area of nature sciences having a watchful eye and a more detailed analysis of the daily chores. An inefficient analysis of the daily life can be a consequence of the lack of basic knowledge of subjects related to the natural sciences, on which there is a great amount of information that can be accessed through technological devices, but that are little explored in media more commonly accessed, such as television, for example. With this in view, the objective of this work is to show the perceptions about science and media in people with limited access to the current technological devices, with comparisons of before and after the scientific divulgation, about science of the daily, realized through the printed newspaper titled 'Science at home'. The study counted with investigation subjects, a group of people living in the peripheral region of municipality of Ponta Grossa/PR, and happened in diverse stages with fortnightly monitoring, counting with application of questionnaires, interviews, a reading session of the newspaper delivered. The analysis of the collected data was qualitative and quantitative, based on methodological processes of Argumentative Strategy Model (ASM), also iconological analysis. The main results are related to the need for a scientific divulgation, designed for the population that could not live much of school life, in order to help overcome epistemological obstacles.
