Abstract
The object of study of this dissertation is the creative process in Visual Arts about
indigenous and Afro-Brazilian culture of students in an 8th year elementary school
class. As resulting objectives, it is proposed to critically understand the creative
processes followed in visual artistic production about indigenous and Afro-Brazilian
cultures in elementary school classes in the final years, as well as mediate the
development of the creative process with artistic productions and student research on
indigenous and Afro-Brazilian cultures; analyze the teaching material of the teaching
network on art, indigenous and Afro-Brazilian cultures; carry out image reading and
analysis of students' artistic productions, highlighting creative processes in visual arts.
The perspectives were based on practice, more specifically on the link between the
teaching of Visual Arts, indigenous and Afro-Brazilian cultures, identifying the creative
paths taken by the students. In this way, the epistemological axis that guided the
research is Critical Theory, through the qualitative approach of descriptive and
interpretative studies of data collected in the research environment: a Basic
Elementary School in the city of Ponta Grossa-PR that has the discipline of Art - Visual
Arts in its curriculum. The research method used is case study study. To generate
data, teaching materials made available by the “Rede de Ensino Campos Gerais” were
used, texts and summaries produced by students by reading images according to the
Iconological method of Erwun Panofsky (1978) of the work “Mahá – Arara Vermelha”
by artist Daiara Tukano, photographs and records of the creative process followed
during art classes, the finished work, as well as reading images of students about their
artistic work according to the Iconological method of Erwun Panofsky (1978). The
results show that the more knowledge students acquired about the topic, the more they
identified the explicit and implicit compositional elements in the work of art and we
reiterate that the more creativity they will have with repertoires to produce their own
works.
