Abstract
The present work focuses on the possibility of reflecting on rape crimes within literary works, through the category "rape narratives" (GUNNE & THOMPSON, 2010) and comparativism, turning to contemporary Brazilian literature and having as corpus of analysis the novels Mar azul (2012), by Paloma Vidal, and Desesterro (2015) by Sheyla Smanioto. In order to do so, the following questions were raised: in what way do these narratives impose themselves within the novels for the purpose of analysis? How does the space in which they are inserted foster the event? What were the narrative resources employed so that they did not fall back into a voyeuristic tone that was counterproductive to the contingency and relevance of the novel? Who is the person responsible for the rape in the novels? And, finally, what is the meaning of thinking about rape narratives separately, emphasizing it literally, rather than simply understanding it as a set of narratives? Thus, the ultimate goal of this work is to find a way, among many, to reflect on the theme, so that there is an ethical commitment to reading novels that bring narratives such as those selected in this work.
