Estratégias e critérios editoriais na cobertura noticiosa do jornalismo diário regional dos Campos Gerais do Paraná

Abstract

The research carried out is aimed at regional coverage by the two daily newspapers headquartered in Ponta Grossa (PR) - Diário dos Campos and Jornal da Manhã. It starts from the hypothesis that both give little space to the news spread of the other cities of the Region of the Campos Gerais of Paraná, besides Ponta Grossa. The general objective of the research is to identify strategies of the media to guide subjects that contemplate the municipalities of the Region. The importance of the work is due to the fact that of all the cities of Campos Gerais only Ponta Grossa has a newspaper with daily edition in 2017. The study also aims to rethink the concept of regional journalism, based on empirical works of journalistic production. The research has as theoretical references the Hypothesis of Newsmaking - which covers criteria of newsworthiness and news-values and theories of Gatekeeper and Framing. The applied research techniques include content analysis, analysis of journalistic coverage, observation of editorial routine in periodicals and semi-structured interviews, dialoguing with authors and conceptual references in the area.
