O Centro-dia de referência para pessoas com deficiência e suas famílias em Ponta Grossa: uma via para a conscientização e inclusão social

Abstract

The present research has as object of study the Centro-Dia para Pessoas com Deficiência and their families in the city of Ponta Grossa – PR. Its problematic is the following question: What are the limits and contributions of the Centro-Dia socioassistance service for people with disabilities and their families, for the process of humanization and awareness of the assisted subjects and their families, considering the educational principle? And yet, we have the following guiding questions: Is it possible to relate Education to social assistance service actions aimed at disabled people and their families? What is Freire’s contribution to thinking about the relationship between professionals and those assisted at the Centro-Dia? In order to respond to such questions, the following objectives were formulated: General: To analyze to what extent the activities carried out in the Centro-Dia for disabled people in Ponta Grossa – PR are configured in educational practices. Specific: I – Historicize the concept of disability in the construction of Brazilian Society; II – Establish an epistemological dialogue between Freire’s pedagogy, with regard to the relationships developed in the referenced servisse; III – Analyze the Centro-Dia service as a space for a process of humanization and social inclusion of the subjects involved, through the educational process. Based of the theoretical framework based on Paulo Freire and his construction of knowledge, through collective relations and the diversity of existences and knowledge, this research contributes to thinking about the educational ideological position in which we are involved and which we aim to develop. The research approach is qualitative, characterized by field research, subsidized by the interviews were carried out with two technical coordinators of the Centro-Dia service, from two different institutions, which took place on March 30, 2021 and April 18, 2021.
