Resumo

This dissertation aims to analyze the level of insertion of the rock music scene in the city of Ponta Grossa / PR in the Creative Economy over the period of 2015 to 2019. Therefore, a qualitative and quantitative research was carried out with a complete inductive method with study and analysis in order to observe the object without any manipulation of the collected data. Thus, the methodological procedures are contemplated: bibliographic research, documentary research, direct observation and semi-structured interviews. The bibliographic research has two main pillars: John Howkins, for the conceptualization of Creative Economy; and Will Straw, for the discussion of the music scene. This discussion served as a basis for the formulation of semistructured interviews and indicators for calculating the proposed levels of insertion. The indicators cover four main elements: a) human resources and logistics; b) capital, training and resource management; c) marketing and; d) intellectual property. Overall, 13 semi-structured interviews were carried out, with 13 local copyright bands, selected based on the following criteria: production of copyrighted music; participation in local events / festivals; holding at least one show per semester; at least five years of careers and; identification with the music scene presented in the research. After conducting the research and data analysis, it appears that the rock music scene in the city of Ponta Grossa / PR has a medium level insertion in the Creative Economy, since it does not meet all the criteria to be considered high level if participation. The social phenomenon, in spite of this, is relevant in promoting the cultural and social development of the municipality, as well as, in a way, the generation of income.
