Honra, paixão e sangue: a constituição relacional do espaço doméstico e masculinidades violentas envolvidas em violência doméstica na cidade de Ponta Grossa, Paraná

Abstract

This work has as guiding thread the following central question: how are established the aggressions against women in the interaction between violent masculinities and the domestic space in Ponta Grossa? As sub questions, the work is concerned with answering: how do men practice violence against women in Ponta Grossa? How are violent masculinities constituted in cases of aggression against women? How does the home constitute itself as an element that enhances violence against women? To answer this question, contex tualization was performed trough 256 police inquiries of domestic violence between the years 2014 and 2018; a dynamic of indirect avaliation , proposed by Selltiz et al. (1987) with nineteen convicted men of domestic violence and participating of a reflecti ve course over their actions; as well as the realization of four interviews with convicted men by femicide or attempted femicide in the city of Ponta Grossa where they reported their story love until the moment of the victim's murder. The research showed t hat the domestic space is composed by elements of other s spatial scales, because the masculinities performed in domestic violence are experienced in the city as a whole. However, it ’s at home that the trajectories of men and women meet and lead to conflict s, based on the expectations of masculinities and femininities idealized by patriarchal society. The narratives show s that the self perception of condemned men is their honor, a principle that molds their ideal of masculinity was hurt by the dominance of f emininity outside of social standard desired.
