Abstract
This research, carried out at an exploratory level, had the general objective to investigate what
are the contributions of the use of the GeoGebra 3D Graphic Calculator application, with AR
(Augmented Reality), for the study of geometric solids. With this objective in mind, a
bibliographic research was carried out and a didactic proposal was elaborated, which was
applied to the second year academics of the Mathematics degree course. The didactic proposal
involved contents related to the study of prisms, pyramids and round bodies, as well as the
calculation of the volume of these solids. With the activities, we sought to explore some
possibilities that the application offers for the spatial geometry teaching, and to investigate if
these contributed to the understanding of the contents covered, and also how was the
receptivity and resourcefulness of the students regarding the use of the application. The
application of the didactic proposal took place remotely, carried out in four meetings lasting
two hours. Data collection took place through the sending of smartphone screenshots by the
participants during the activities, and also through the application of questionnaires. When
analyzing the data, it was found that the application helped students to visualize threedimensional
geometric solids, making it easier for them to perceive characteristics that could
go unnoticed in a two-dimensional representation. It was also found that its use allowed them
to act with more autonomy in approaching the contents, exploring and interacting with the
geometric constructions in AR, therefore obtaining, through their own action, numerous visual
representations of the constructions, which allowed them to observe from different ways the
properties applied. Thus, it was noticed that the application also contributed to the students to
improve their skills in understanding three-dimensional geometric constructions. Finally, we
can highlight that the use of the application provided very attractive learning moments for the
students and, in a way, contributed to the activities becoming more engaging.
