Presença das mulheres negras em Ponta Grossa/PR: histórias de vida

Abstract

This paper is located in the area of Language Studies and has as research subjects black women from Ponta Grossa, as well as their social relations and life experiences in the county. The research aims to highlight the socio-cultural presence of black women in Ponta Grossa, giving visibility and listening to them so they can tell their own life story. The specific objectives are as follows: to analyze the discourses of black women of different age groups, professional activities and social groups; taking as its source the life story of black women, record how racial prejudice manifests itself in Ponta Grossa; From the results of the interviews, that is, from the women's own voice, identify how their experiences with racism in childhood contributed to the process of building their identities of black women; point out how social differences are constructed and perceived; point out how the protagonists of this research see themselves and how they consider them to be seen before society. For the accomplishment of this research the methodology of the oral history was selected, since, according to Sônia Maria de Freitas (2006, p.49) the greatest potentiality of this methodology is the possibility of rescuing the individual as subject of his own history. The main purpose of oral history is to provide sources for various studies through recorded interviews. In addition to the interviews, we chose to use autobiographical narratives (FERREIRA, 2015) as a complementary source of data collection. The analysis of life stories is based on articles, essays and works by Nilma Lino Gomes (2005), Kabengele Munanga (2003), Stuart Hall (2008), Moita Lopes (2002), bell Hooks (2015), among other authors. The dissertation is organized in three chapters: the first brings together theoretical and methodological considerations of the research, the second and third present and analyze the life histories of black women from Ponta Grossa, grouped by age group: mature women and young women.
