Abstract
The C&DW appears currently as a worldwide issue because this waste consists the vomluminiest residue produced by human. Uses like in concrete production and paving application are increasingly consolidated but other possibilities still less explored. The follow work focus on evaluation of recycled aggregates use in water and sewage treatment processes replacing natural aggregates, as well as the possibility of recycled aggregates cover with paraffin or asphaltic emulsion aiming a decrease of leaching effects. For the study achievement were evaluated mixed recycled aggregates (MRA), concrete recycled aggregates (CMA) and natural aggregate (NA) submitted to conctact with potable water and secondary sewage. Further of characterization of recycled aggregates as their physical properties, was annalyzed the behavior of these residue in view of their contact with water and sewage. This behavior was annalyzed using water quality parameters being them: pH, alcalinity, conductivity, calcium, sulfate, total solids, COD, color, turbidity, total phosphor and amoniacal nitrogen. Was verified that the leaching of CD&W compounds results in interesting changes on water and sewage quality. For some parameters and materials, the aggregate cover is interesting and for others is not. Was observed too different aggregate behavior in face of different cover material and vice versa.
