Abstract

t is no exaggeration to point out that there is a global movement that makes societies technodependents. In this sense, free software has been a way for generating technological knowledge and therefore attracts great interest from governments and the business sector. This paper seeks to analyze the free software reception in the Ponta Grossa business community, since this technology model it is encouraged through government policies.Firstly, a research was conducted to perform a quantitative analysis of the organizations established in Ponta Grossa regarding the use of information technology as a tool for business management. Later we analyze qualitatively three companies that joined the use of free software and what were the results. This research sent us to analyze relevant points that take some companies to use some technology standards computer in its structure.
