dc.description.abstractPlacoceratias Enderlein 1910, is a genus belonging to the family Keroplatidae and the subfamily Keroplatinae. Until the present study, it has seven exclusively neotropical species. The group has not been revised since 1990, which was studied by French entomologist Loïc Matile. With the availability of biological material from various regions of Brazil, a review of the group was made, which proposes three synonyms, updated descriptions, with new illustrations and photos, a dichotomous key to the genus and expansion of the geographic distribution of its species. And for the first note on the life cycle of Placoceratias bimaculipennis species are described.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoPlacoceratias Enderlein 1910, é um gênero pertencente à família Keroplatidae e a subfamília Keroplatinae. Até o presente estudo conta com sete espécies exclusivamente neotropicais. O grupo não é revisado desde 1990, que foi estudado pelo entomólogo francês Loïc Matile. Com a disponibilidade de material biológico provindas de várias regiões do Brasil foi feita uma revisão do grupo, a qual propõe três sinonímias, descrições atualizadas, com novas ilustrações e fotos, uma chave dicotômica para o gênero e ampliação da distribuição geográfica de suas espécies. E a primeira nota sobre o ciclo de vida da espécie Placoceratias bimaculipennis são descritas.pt_BR
