A trajetória da luta identitária dos Faxinais do Paraná: perspectivas para educação emancipatória e territorialmente situada

Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the constitution of the Faxinal territory by characterizing the struggles and the school context. The central question of the research is thus expressed: given the struggles and achievements regarding the issues of the Faxinal territory, what are the possibilities for school education for the Faxinal people? The research is documentary in nature. Our specific objectives are to present the historical context of the Faxinal territory in the state of Paraná; to characterize the socio-political organization of the Faxinal people, through the analysis of the Articulação Puxirão dos Povos Faxinalenses; and to reflect on school education and the possibilities for school education for the Faxinal people within it. The concepts that guide the study are territory, collective organization of the Faxinal people, and school education. The thesis defended is that school education for the Faxinal people should contemplate the specificities and particularities of the territory of the Traditional Peoples and Communities. At the end of the research, it is concluded that the school institution contributes to the invisibility and disappearance of the Faxinal territory, because Faxinal children are not able to spend time with their families due to the time they spend in schools. Therefore, the Articulação Puxirão dos Povos Faxinalenses proposes the opening of a school in the Faxinal territory in the state of Paraná.
