Geografia da violência sexual contra crianças e adolescentes no município de Ponta Grossa - Paraná

Abstract

This research seeks to understand how Geography constitutes the crimes committed against the sexual dignity of children and adolescents in the municipality of Ponta Grossa - Paraná, from 2017 to 2022. This research investigates who the perpetrators of crimes against the sexual dignity of children and adolescents are, addressing the socioeconomic characteristics of children and adolescent victims of crimes against their sexual dignity, evaluating the geographical characteristics of the areas where the crimes occurred, mapping the points of greatest incidence of this type of crime. With quantitative and qualitative methods, the research is combined by the use of statistical instruments, both in the collection and processing of data, and is therefore concerned with numerical representativeness, i.e. the objective measurement and quantification of the results. In the qualitative axis, based on theoretical-empirical knowledge, which is basically concerned with the empirical world in its natural environment, the research fieldwork is strengthened through documents, records and studies related to the object that will describe the phenomenon and its environment of manifestation. Sexual violence against children and adolescents is a complex phenomenon, marked by power relations, silencing and stigmas. The research delves into the subjective experiences of the victims, perpetrators and family members, revealing the variations and complex dynamics surrounding this type of violence. With this, the research can understand the multiple dimensions of sexual violence against children and adolescents in the municipality of Ponta Grossa - Paraná, taking into account social, cultural, economic and psychological factors, allowing the identification of risk and protection factors and the barriers that prevent reporting and access to support services. The research will show how sexual violence against children and adolescents manifests itself in the geographical area under study, seeking the best use of data collection and statistical treatment, strengthening the fight against sexual crimes against children and adolescents in the municipality of Ponta Grossa - Paraná, leveraging studies aligned with Territorial Management.
