A dupla carreira de jovens atletas de futebol: uma análise de ex-atletas do Operário Ferroviário Esporte Clube.

Abstract

The present study aims to identify the changes that football can provide in the lives of its former athletes. For this, we sought to investigate the trajectory of former athletes from the basic categories of Operário. As these athletes were of school age, the investigation took place from the observation of this double journey. The research is classified as exploratory and qualitative, since the structured interviews was used to understand and describe the trajectory of former athletes. The selection of participants was carried out using the Snowball method. For the analysis of the interviews, Content Analysis was used based on Bardin's methodological contributions. The analysis of the interviews made it possible to identify that there is a prioritization of sports training compared to the time dedicated to schooling, since the interviewees say that during the double shift period that they needed to share their tasks, football always took priority over studies. However, there were no reports of school dropouts. In this research, no significant damage was observed with the double journey, contrary to the initial assumptions, it is concluded that all respondents completed their studies, entered higher education institutions and followed their lives normally, without social damage related to football.
