dc.description.abstractHydrogen embrittlement is a recurring phenomenon, especially in high-strength metallic components operating in hydrogen-rich environments. Hydrogen absorption promotes the reduction of ductility in metallic components, making them brittle and susceptible to catastrophic failures. Among the materials commonly used in aggressive environments containing abundant hydrogen, duplex stainless steels (DSS) and super duplex stainless steels (SDSS) stand out, particularly in the chemical and petroleum industries. This study investigates how pre-strain can influence hydrogen embrittlement in super duplex stainless steel UNS S32750. For this purpose, specimens with diferent pre-strain levels were hydrogen charged and tested in uniaxial tensile at the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) in Campinas - SP. The experimental station where the tests were carried out allowed the capture of X-ray diffraction profiles from the specimens while they were mechanically tested. In addition to the mechanical results, with proper treatment, the diffraction profiles enabled the evaluation of microstructural parameters, such as the average crystallite size and the dislocation density. Fractographic analysis and Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) were also performed on the tested specimens to investigate the fractured surface and the texture components present in the regions near the fracture. The mechanical results revealed an intensification of hydrogen embrittlement in the pre- strained specimens. The embrittlement indices ranged from 29.6% to 38.1% for the non-pre-strained condition (0%), while for the pre-strained specimens, they ranged from 52% to 60.6%. The total elongation decreased with increasing pre-deformation, especially for 11%, 22%, and 33%, and was further reduced for the hydrogen charged material, highlighting the embrittlement and confirming the influence of pre-strain on the phenomenon.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoA fragilização por hidrogênio é um fenômeno recorrente especialmente em peças metálicas de alta resistência que atuam em meios com alta concentração deste elemento. A absorção de hidrogênio promove a redução da ductilidade de componentes metálicos, tornando-os frágeis e susceptíveis a falhas catastróficas. Dentre os materiais mais comumente usados pelas indústrias química e petrolífera em meios agressivos contendo hidrogênio em abundância destacam-se os aços inoxidáveis duplex (AID) e super duplex (AISD). O presente trabalho investiga como a pré-deformação pode influenciar na fragilização por hidrogênio do aço inoxidável super duplex UNS S32750. Para tanto, corpos de prova deste aço com 0%, 11%, 22% e 33% de pré-deformação foram hidrogenados e ensaiados em tração uniaxial no Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron (LNLS) em Campinas - SP. A estação experimental em que os testes foram conduzidos possibilitou a captação de perfis de difração de raios X a partir dos corpos de prova enquanto ensaiados mecanicamente. Além dos resultados mecânicos, com o devido tratamento, os perfis de difração coletados in-situ permitiram a avaliação do comportamento de parâmetros microestruturais, como o tamanho médio de cristalito e a densidade de discordâncias. Realizou-se também a análise fractográfica e por EBSD (Electron Backscatter Diffraction) dos corpos de prova ensaiados com o intuito de investigar-se a superfície fraturada, bem como as componentes de textura presentes nas regiões próximas a fratura. Através dos resultados mecânicos constatou-se a intensificação da fragilização por hidrogênio nos corpos de prova pré-deformados. Os índices de fragilização variaram entre 29,6% e 38,1% para a condição sem pré-deformação (0%), enquanto que para os pré-deformados variaram entre 52% e 60,6%. O alongamento total foi cada vez menor com o aumento da pré-deformação, em especial para 11%, 22% e 33%, e ainda mais reduzido para o material hidrogenado, evidenciando a fragilização, bem como confirmando a influência da pré-deformação no fenômeno.pt_BR
