Abstract
The application of the alternative techniques for the soil structure parameters analysis has
been used more increasingly. The analysis of the 2D and 3D images is an alternative in this
qualitative process, can be associated with the traditional techniques as the micromorphology
and the soil physical quality (SPQ) indices. The aim of this work was evaluating the porous
system of a Haplohumox under integrate crop-livestok system (ICLS). This experiment was
carried out in bands with treatment of subdivided plots. These bands presented an area of 1200
m² (120 × 10 m) and the sub-plots 100 m² (10 × 10 m). The bands were under different
management systems: conventional tillage (CT), minimum tillage (MT), no-tillage (NT) and
chiseled no-tillage (CNT), taking into consideration the annual ryegrass (Lollium multiforum
Lam) use was cropped as follows: cover crop (C), grazing (G) and silage (S) during the winter.
It has been collected blocks samples to realize resin impregnation with fluorescent pigment, for
micromorphological observations. Undisturbed soil samples were collected in stainless steel
volumetric rings to assess the partial water retention curve (SWRC) and analysis of others
physical and soil structure parameters. This work joined the micromorphology analysis
technique by 2D images, with the application of SPQ indices and hydraulic-energetics functions
to obtain results more accurate in terms of possible modifications occurred in the soil structure.
It was observed that both obtained related results in a satisfactory way.
