Negros/as na High Society Midiática: uma análise da presença do Clube Literário e Recreativo 13 de Maio no colunismo social e notícias do Diário dos Campos e Jornal da Manhã de Ponta Grossa/Pr (1970 a 1989)

Abstract

This work aims to carry out a complexification and, also, a debate about the relationship between the black men and women who frequent Clube Literário e Recreativo 13 de Maio in Ponta Grossa with the local media, in this case the printed newspapers Diário dos Campos and Jornal da Manhã. The research takes into account the 1970s and 1980s, a time when Ponta Grossa social clubs held dances, social events and beauty contests (for example the Rainha da Soja contest). Therefore, the purpose of the research is to see how the media treated the black club in this particular situation. The date of May 13, which is the anniversary of the founding of the black club, and a date on which dances took place in reference to the date of the abolition of slavery, were also taken into account. To understand a little about the relationship of the black club with the local society, it was decided to make an analysis, anchored in the Content Analysis methodology, in the local newspapers. Thus, the research in Chapter 1 presents the relationship between blacks and the Brazilian media. Chapter 2 presents counterpart movements, empowerment initiatives, such as Clubs, especially Clube 13 de Maio de Ponta Grossa. And chapter 3 presents the relationship between Clube 13 de Maio and Jonais Diário dos Campos and Jornal da Manhã, as well as how these forms dealt with the figure of blacks and blacks. The three chapters try to show the construction of the complex relationship between the media and the black population with their resistance movements.
