Poliamor e ciberespaço: uma análise das representações sociais no Youtube

Abstract

The polyamory is, in today’s society, a genre of family arrangement and a form of relationship, in the case of social and affective relations. It is possible to define it as a non-monogamous kind of relationship, whereupon there exists two (or more) relations sexual-affective relationships concomitantly, with the knowledge of all the members. Comprehend and obtain the social representations (SR) of the brazilian towards the polyamory and the polyaffective family, aim of the present research, is relevant in the sense of perceiving how the society perceives family models that diverge of the historically built standard, considering that the SR have as a property the social control and the repression of what is seen as inadequate. Qualitative analysis of 206 comments of brazilian netizens on a video available on the cyberspace, specifically the YouTube, is performed, as it is a privileged space to circulation of common sense of the users without researcher interference. Thus, the family is analyzed as in general as in Brazil, as well are noted the current features of the brazilian family, of the polyamorous family and it’s legal situation. Through manual analysis, it’s observed a generally positive attitude on polyamory, although it was noticed that the female gender showed highly favorable attitude, while it was stated that the male gender presents itself as divided between positive and negative attitudes. With the aid of the IRAMUTEQ software, the SR were obtained, specifically one based on the traditional, heterosexual and monogamous nuclear family that backs up on the legal aspect and the romantic love ideal to position itself agains the polyamory, and another based on the eudemonist family, which has happiness and affection as it’s paradigm, backing up on individual freedom and the modern confluent love to justify its favorable attitude towards polyamory. The first SR had strong influence of the speech of the male users, while the second had a bigger influence from the female user’s speeches.
