Abstract
This study aims to assess the functionality of patients 12 months after hospital
discharge in COVID-19 intensive care units. Methodology: Cross-sectional analytical research
with sociodemographic, clinical, self-perception of health data and the WHODAS 2.0 scale.
Patients discharged from a university hospital were interviewed, and the inclusion criteria were
based in: Admission by COVID-19 in one of the five ICUs of the university hospital;
hospitalization time superior to 8 days; discharge preceding the data collection in at least 365
days; patients with age superior to 18 years old. The analysis of the data was carried through
the data mining process. Results: 32 were found, 25% of which were deficient. These showed
low cognition, mobility, self-care, limitation in daily activities, justified by biological and
clinical parameters. Still, 75% of concentration and 50% of promotion of development%
obesity and polymedication. The length of stay and the therapeutic resources demanded during
this period were also associated with the observed disability. The statistics of the inexistence of
difference in the average of self-assessment in relation to the general state of health (p=0.0501)
and the existence of indices of differences between the groups of self-care classified by the
degree of evidence of disability were verified, evidencing that the The Disabled group has the
worst indicator of the degree of mastery of health and the tests show differences in the index of
an automatic assessment of the degree of general health of the disability classification groups
(p= 0.041) Assessment of health since the disadvantage presents by the degree of disability),
Self-Assessment of General Health (r=-0.6564; p=0.00005) and with Self-Care (r=-0.6493;
p=0.00006). Final considerations: -19, added to the length of stay and clinical factors, was
related to disability, with a strong presence of symptoms after the hospital virus. It was
statistically an automatic assessment of the health status of the patients, with the degree of
disability of the individuals verified, which is statistically proven that the assessment of the
general health status and with self-care, therefore, patients present a degree of disability their
quality of life. life like. It is expected to contribute to the understanding of the impacts of
