O PERFIL DAS DEMANDAS PARA A PROTEÇÃO SOCIAL DOS CATADORES DE MATERIAIS RECICLÁVEIS DE GUARAPUAVA-PR

Abstract

This dissertation of Master Degree analyzes the socioeconomic demands of collectors of recyclable material in Guarapuava-PR, considering Social Security and their predictions. The dialectical method guides the approach of the phenomenon. This research is exploratory and was developed with thirty collectors of recyclable material in the neighborhoods Paz e Bem, Jardim das Américas, Vila Bela, Boqueirão, Santana, Airton Sena, São Vicente, Alto da XV and Morro Alto. These neighborhoods were chosen due to traffic and large contingent of collectors of recyclable material. The methodological procedures are: bibliographic research, document research and structured interview - based on a formulary with opened and closed questions. With these procedures, this study obtained data on personal identification; situation and family circumstances, living conditions, working conditions and income; demands for the field of social assistance, health and welfare. The method adopted for the construction of theoretical syntheses is content analysis. We conclude that the socioeconomic demands are related to labor rights and it is from this right - the main demand - that collectors of recyclable material seek access to other social rights.
