Análise do uso público da Furna do Buraco do Padre - Parque Nacional dos Campos Gerais (PR)

Abstract

Public use in natural areas is an increasingly relevant topic, especially in the context of environmental conservation and economic potential. In this study, we analyze the Furna Buraco do Padre, located in the Buraco do Padre Nature Park, which is part of the Campos Gerais National Park in Ponta Grossa, PR. The objective is to investigate the public use of this attraction, identifying potential environmental impacts and visitor perceptions to minimize these impacts. To achieve this, field research methods and interviews were employed. The research focuses on participatory observation and data collection on visitor perceptions, allowing for the categorization of the obtained results. This approach revealed significant environmental impacts resulting from visitation and showed that many visitors demonstrate a growing awareness of the importance of conservation, although there is a lack of knowledge about the negative effects of their activities. Based on the collected data, management strategies were proposed aiming at the sustainable management of the conservation unit. Given the increasing visitation in protected areas, this research provides valuable insights into understanding the challenges of balancing environmental conservation and public use, contributing to the implementation of effective management policies and practices.
