Protocolo Interdisciplinar em Ortopedia: uma investigação retrospectiva da fila de espera na atenção primária

Abstract

Interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity are essential approaches in health care. Multidisciplinarity brings together professionals from different fields who work in parallel, while interdisciplinarity fosters a more integrated collaboration where knowledge interacts. This study retrospectively analyzed the application of interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity in the municipal public health system of Ponta Grossa, comparing them in the referrals from primary care to medical specialties, specifically in the orthopedic waiting list. In the first phase, documents related to the orthopedic protocol used by the municipality were reviewed, including guidelines and standard operating procedures. The second phase involved collecting data from the orthopedic waiting list under two models: multidisciplinary (2021-2023) and interdisciplinary (2019-2020). The research included 12,662 records obtained from official sources of the Ambulatory Regulation Center, organized by the number of patients on the waiting list, annual requests by gender, risk classifications, and average waiting time. The results aim to contribute to the understanding of the application of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary care pathways in the public health system. The study demonstrates the working dynamics between primary and specialized care, with the goal of promoting more integrated and efficient public health services. This includes protocol reviews, discussions, and adjustments, as well as expanding the categories of professionals involved in the process to improve service delivery to the population.
