Abstract

This dissertation aims to understand ‘how do the rights guarantee assemblage for LGBT + people occur in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná?’. We consider that the production of knowledge related to assemblage in Brazilian Geography is small and is not related to social movements in general. So, this work was carried out with a view to producing intelligibility and visibility to the actions of activists, militants and allies of the LGBT+ movement in Ponta Grossa, Paraná according to use of the concept of assemblage as a theoretical alternative that emphasizes the phenomena as resulting from practices and actions in process. Thus, were defined three sub-questions: 1) How human and non-human elements are articulated in the composition of the guarantee of rights assemblage for LGBT + people in the city of Ponta Grossa? 2) How the process of assembling, dessembling and reassemblig of guaranteeing rights for LGBT+ people occur in the city of Ponta Grossa? 3) How do the rights guarantee assemblage for LGBT+ people in Ponta Grossa happens in terms of time/space dynamics? Therefore, we conducted 12 interviews with people from the LGBT+ movement and activism and allies from the city of Ponta Grossa. We use as methodological procedures the content analysis of discourse from Bardin (2016), in conjunction with operationalizations proposed by Silva and Fossá (2015) with the creation of initial, intermediate and final categories of analysis/inferences.We also used the life stories methodology from Delgado (2013) in conjunction with content analysis of discourse from Bardin (2016) to demonstrate by systematizing the narratives of the people interviewed, how personal, institutional, professional and activism trajectories can be brought together in around the purpose of ensure rights for specific social groups that demand these rights. We demonstrate how people and institutions participate in assemblages, considering them as actions to mobilize to challenge the unfavorable panorama to LGBT + people in Brazil, where there is a dual dynamic of rule and exception in guaranteeing rights aimed at these people, considered incongruous in relation to 'heteronormality' (BUTLER, 2003) and for that reason they are repulsed, constituting an exception in the maintenance of the norm. In this way we came to the conclusion that the assemblage of guarantee of rights for LGBT + people in Ponta Grossa, Paraná happens in dynamics of congregation, union - assembling around the common purpose of promoting improvements and dignified living conditions for LGBT + people through mobilizations for guarantee of entitlement. They have provisional temporality since the LGBT + movement is heterogeneous and composed of multiple identities and entities in change, and it is not always a cohesive organization, not being continuous, forcing the dessembling. The national, state and municipal conjunctures regarding the offensive of religious and conservative groups, indicate the need for unity, a characteristic that is yet to come in this movement and pro LGBT + ponta-grossense activism. The conjuncture also establishes the objective, the purpose for these assemblages to be processes that always occur (reassembling).
