Atendimento à violência contra a mulher e covid-19: o trabalho dos Núcleos Maria da Penha em tempos de pandemia

Abstract

The present work aims to explain about the development of the activities from Maria da Penha Center (NUMAPE) in the COVID-19 pandemic time. NUMAPE is a university extension project, linked to the government of the state of Paraná, which provides assistance to women in situations of violence; furthermore, with its actions based on Maria da Penha Law – it grants its activities to combat violence. There are ten NUMAPES in office in Paraná, attached to seven Higher Education Institutions in the state. The centers are integrated by multidisciplinary teams made up of scholarship grantees from undergraduation, undergraduate professionals and also Higher Education Institutions teachers. The NUMAPE’S work development changed because of the pandemic caused by a virus scientifically named SARS-CoV-2, the Coronavirus, especially with the change from the face-to-face to remote work format, respecting the orientations to avoid virus contamination. Therefore, this dissertation directly observed the reality of the NUMAPES to understand the impacts that pandemic has caused on their activities, based on the starting question: How the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 has influenced the work of Maria da Penha Center about the service of violence against women? For this purpose, the proposal was to give voice to the scholarship grantees as newly graduated professionals; they gave information about how the center’s work were developed during the pandemic through online surveys, with structured questions, through objective and descriptive answers; in total, 14 scholarship grantees participated in it. The time required was between March 2020 (the beginning of the pandemic) and August 2021 (time when NUMAPES had their settings changed by the Ordinance number 009/2021/UGF). The survey’s answers were verified through the Content Analysis Methodology; this work is reasoned by theoretical reflections on violence against women through epistemological viewpoint of feminist theory, and also in dialogue with other authors who dedicate themselves to the topic, using the State of Knowledge methodology. Organized through the Scandinavian method, the work consists of four articles, in addition to the introductory textual elements and also conclusive elements.
