Abstract

This research has as objectives to identify, describe and analyze the students' academic perceptions about the academic activities proposed by their teachers, seeking to contribute with the teaching-learning process in the context of higher education. The theoretical perspective comes from the Historical-Cultural referential of Lev Semenovich Vygotsky. In this perspective, the teacher's mediation is conceived as a way of executing and optimizing the teaching-learning process as in the academic context as in any other education level, constituting a prerequisite for learning. The researched population was formed by students from the Degree Courses in Physics and in Pedagogy from the State University of Ponta Grossa - Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa - UEPG. The research methodological approach is qualitative and the procedures for the data collection were the observation of classes and semi-structured interviews with students, looking for the observations deeping. The obtained results point out as incident variables on the students' perception about their academic activities, an incoherent educational attitude in relation to the class model and the model of the activities proposed to the students; the present asymmetry in time-content and time-learning relationships; the teachers' professional behavior; the absence of previous academic knowledge and the instructional conditions for the activities accomplishment. As conclusion of the analyzed data, the need of a mediated educational action is reinforced since all the pointed variables for the subjects, as well as involved in their perception of academic activities, presuppose an alive presence and an efficient and guiding educational intervention of the students' learning.
