NARRATIVAS DE VIDA: REFLEXÕES SOBRE JUVENTUDE, VIOLÊNCIA E GÊNERO A PARTIR DE HISTÓRIAS DE JOVENS INSERIDAS NO PROGRAMA PEMSE – PONTA GROSSA – PR.

Abstract

The present work aims to put into question the relations among marginalized youth, violence and gender from the stories and experiences of young women entered in the Municipal Program of Social-Educational Measures in Open (Programa Municipal de Medidas Sócio Educativas em Meio Aberto – PEMSE), in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brazil. The interviews have been structured and have had as theoretic metodological reference the oral history and the women’s history, forms of knowledge production which gained strength primarily from the 1960s. Both oral history and women’s history recognize the importance of subjectivity of individuals,breaking with many rules of modern scientific rationality. The essay is divided into three chapters. The first one discusses the potential of working with orality and the importance of valuing women’s narrative. The second chapter presents the six stories of life which lead the research, also it contains a brief description of the institution and introduces a profile of the young people placed in the program. The third chapter is composed by an analysis of the interviews, from the perception of violence as an element inserted in the stories and reality of these young people. Violence is discussed not only in the visible extent: the practice of infraction by youth, but also as structural violence that focuses on this segment.
