Ensino de história e representações dos femininos na Umbanda: uma análise a partir da Revista Espiritual de Umbanda (2003 - 2008).

Abstract

The dissertation adresses the theme Women Representations in Umbanda from the analysis of the Espiritual de Umbanda Magazine, from 2003 to 2008, that is, within the publication período of the magazine. This the me is studied due to the fact that from the 20th century on, studies on women have been intensified, also in relation to religions and the teaching of history. In this way, researches that aim to analyze women in religion and the application of this know ledge in classroom be come important. Umbanda was chosen because it is an Afro-Brazilian religion that presents Candomblé heritages and in this form of belief, women were the pioneers of the religion. Thus, it seeks to analyze how the participation of women is in a religion that adopted Christian, African, Indigenous and Kardecist syncretism. For the construction of the analysis, the concepts of representation by Sergé Moscovici (2003) and Denise Jodelet (2001) were used, as well as the concept of gender by Scott (1990), dialoguing with the discussion in theteaching of History, based on reflections on the history of Umbanda, Afro-Brazilian culture and women representations.
