O ensino de história local nos anos iniciais do município de Ponta Grossa: no caminho da princesa das crianças.

Abstract

This thesis is dedicated to the study of teaching and learning local history in the early years in the city of Ponta Grossa, in Paraná. Through the approach of a diagnosis on the theme based on questionnaires answered by the teachers of the initial years of the city, we seek to trace the trajectory and the importance of a paradidactic material about the local history, “The princess of the children”, its participation among the materials currently mentioned by the teachers and the projection of the characteristics of new materials and didactic processes that can be considered nowadays to improve the teaching of local history in the city. The research goals focus on collecting data that portray a little of the reality of teaching Local History in the city of Ponta Grossa today and its possible shortages and potential, in the view of the teachers, to contribute to the creation of new teaching materials for this purpose. In this context, in the midst of the contents suggested for the discipline of History in the early years, there are those that deal specifically with Local History and it is on this outline that this research focuses and brings questions about the way in which this theme has been worked in this segment. The non-existence of didactic materials suitable for this age group, on the Local History of Ponta Grossa, enhances the search for possible contributions to the work of teachers in the early years, which will be based on the results obtained by the questionnaires. The data collected were categorized into the following themes: initial and continuing education, use of didactic sources and materials, and knowledge and analysis of the History curriculum. Such categorization enabled the creation of a scenario within the teaching of History in the early years, with which it was possible to dialogue and promote reflections on the practice of teachers in this segment.
