Governança e jornalismo: financiamento coletivo na busca da sustentabilidade para organizações jornalísticas

Abstract

The crowfunding is used to enable cultural goods and products since 2009. In Brazil, the initiative develops from 2012 and the journalistic products are one of the categories available in crowfunding platforms. The following research develops a methodology to search the journalism funded collectively from two axis: the economics arrangement and the values/identity of journalism. This development started from the website Catarse, the largest collective financing platform of Brazil, as an empiric object. The research seeks understanding how the governance concept can be applied to debate the journalism from collective funding and how this tool is now a research opportunity that helps identifying a possible conciliation in search of a ethical journalism and financially sustainable. The categories “Bolsa de Reportagem”, Project, Maintenance of Media Vehicle and Creation of Media Vehicle were created to comprehend how the crowdfunding is used by the media organization.
