Abstract
In this work, we mobilized researchers such as Marília Moschkovich (2022), Julia Shaw
(2023) and Inácio Saldanha (2023) to understand bisexuality as a complete and legitimate
sexual identity, in addition to learning about the history of the Brazilian bisexual movement.
We then reflect on how bisexual experiences are framed by Brazilian journalism, based on
authors such as Gaye Tuchman (2016), Teresa Sádaba (2008), Márcia Veiga da Silva (2010,
2019) and Fabiana Moraes (2019, 2022). Aiming to propose ways for the Brazilian press to
promote affirmative framings about the bi community, we dialogued, through semi-structured
interviews, with six people who work in the Brazilian bisexual movement. Finally, we
consolidated the knowledge accumulated over the course of this research into propositional
material: a Guide to good practices for journalistic coverage of bisexuality, a product
presented in the appendices of this work.
