Da cátedra a erudição: a valorização do ensino superior nas universidades públicas estaduais do Paraná

Abstract

Given a reflective analysis, we will seek to highlight/understand the changes in higher education resulting from the history of the world and national universities, from a temporal perspective; understand Brazilian universities in the context of educational reforms; analyze the emergence of new social norms in-state public universities in Paraná, the transformational situation in the context of change to build consensus to ensure social stability and debate current issues that affect consensual discussions that state public universities in Paraná affect all of the life states and directly interfere with social cohesion. Through theoretical research based on references such as Diderot, Kant, Humboldt, Weber, Fernando Azevedo, Florestan Fernandes, Darcy Ribeiro, Anísio Teixeira, Newton Sucupira, Jacques Delors, and others, an analysis of the classic and utopian concept of the university is outlined. Discussing specific criticisms of the university conception, through a methodology that embeds a descriptive approach, positioned as qualitative analysis and functionalist epistemology, it is intended to dialogue with the history of the world, national and Paraná higher education, to reflect the educational policy and the impact of neoliberalism. Numerical subsidies are described that provide an exclusive overview of the seven public universities in Paraná: State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), of Londrina (UEL), of Maringá (UEM), of West Paraná (UNIOESTE), of Central West (UNICENTRO), from Northern Paraná (UENP) and the State University of Paraná (UNESPAR), concerning the democratization of teaching with the implementation of affirmative policies and the relationship of these universities with the National Education Plan. An analysis is also made about the teacher, the student, and the research in the state public universities of Paraná. Finally, points of interest that directly reflect the contemporary identity of these institutions are proposed, such as promoting the research university, reflecting on the ranking of universities, discussing the current viability of the non-presential university, and thinking about alternatives for the contemporary crisis of the university. Imagine the university of the future to try to understand the university as an element of social cohesion.
