Abstract
The present research was inserted in the field of History of Education and its objective was to understand school culture at the Senador Correia State School (1973-1976) in Ponta Grossa, PR. The research consists of documentary and bibliographic character. With regard to the school collection consulted, some normative documents were identified: Internal Regulation of Complex n. 2, which organized the operation of five schools belonging to Complex n. 2, Minutes of the Robin Hood, Cultural and Sports Beneficent Association (ABCD “RH ”); and a project by the Ponta Grossa Children's Youth Olympiad (OLIJUP). The temporal delimitation from 1973 to 1976 is significant for the object of study because in 1973 the Olympics, event organized in four editions, were implemented; and in 1976, the last edition of the Olympics took place, the first step towards the transition from the Olympics to the Municipal Student Games (JEM). Contributed to this research textual productions by some authors, among which are: the conceptualization of school culture by Dominique Julia, Viñao Frago and Jean-Claude Forquin; schooling by Faria Filho; and the dialogue about Physical Education and sports by Marcos Aurélio Taborda de Oliveira and Carmem Lúcia Soares. The elaboration of the dissertation made it possible to perceive the delineation of the school culture in different ways, which are related to the temporal changes based on how the school was organized to implement the mandatory subjects, in particular Physical Education and the implementation of (OLIJUP) with the active participation of students in training of different sports. Through the analysis of the rules of the Olympics and photographic images available in the collection of the researched school, it was observed the association of Physical Education with sports, mainly in the four editions of Ponta Grossa Children's Youth Olympiad (OLIJUP), organized by Cultural and Sports Beneficent Association (ABCD “RH”). The activities were directed to the purposes proposed and constituted specificities in the school culture, providing changes in the school scope of the Senador Correia State School.
