dc.description.abstractThis investigation aims to understand how the dynamics of racialities permeated the production of scientific papers in the Brazilian geography between 2001 and 2018. To develop the study, 98 online journals that are part of the Geography area of the QualisCAPES system were surveyed, which resulted in 25.437 papers. Out of that number, 452 papers were selected for being related to the theme of racialities. In addition, 7 interviews were carried out, the interviewees were 03 men and 04 women that are teachers in higher education institutions and belong to the group called black geographers. The content of the papers and the interviews were systematized using content analysis, as suggested by Bardin (2002), and Silva and Silva (2016). The results of our analysis showed that the field of racialilies in the Brazilian Geography corresponds to only 1.8% of the whole production. Hegemonic themes that support this production are traditional communities, indigenous and quilombolas, which are always treated as collectives or groups, and the territory is their basis. The hegemony of male authorship regarding academic productivity and legitimacy is clear, and the trajectories of the researchers interviewed revealed limitations imposed to racialilites in the Brazilian geographical debate.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoEsta pesquisa teve por finalidade compreender como as dinâmicas das racialidades compuseram a produção de artigos científicos na Geografia brasileira entre 2001 e 2018. Para a realização da pesquisa foi feita uma busca de artigos nos 98 periódicos on-line que fazem parte da área de Geografia no Sistema Qualis-CAPES em um universo de 25.437 artigos. Desse total, foram selecionados 452 artigos que estão relacionados à temática das racialidades. Além disso foram realizadas sete entrevistas, sendo três homens e quatro mulheres, que são docentes do ensino superior e que fazem parte do grupo chamado de geógrafas/os negras/os. O conteúdo dos artigos, bem como das entrevistas foram sistematizados por meio de análise de conteúdo, conforme indicam Bardin (2002) e Silva e Silva (2016). Como resultados das análises podemos afirmar que o campo das racialidades na Geografia corresponde somente a 1,8% de toda produção. As temáticas hegemônicas que sustentam essa produção são as comunidades tradicionais, indígenas e quilombolas, tratadas sempre como coletivo ou grupo, sendo o conceito de território o seu fundamento. É nítida a hegemonia de autorias masculinas no que diz respeito à produtividade e legitimidade acadêmica, bem como as trajetórias das/os pesquisadoras/es entrevistadas/os apontam para limitações das racialidades no debate geográfico brasileiro.pt_BR
