As equações diofantinas lineares no currículo da educação básica

Abstract

Diophantine equations are named after the Greek mathematician Diophantus of Alexandria. These equations are present in the mathematical modeling of several situations and are a subject of study in the current curriculum of Mathematics for Basic Education in the state of S˜ao Paulo. With this perspective, we propose its extension to the other states of the federation. To this end, we present a complementary material aimed at the work in the classroom, so that the teacher can insert or deepen this content. We adopted as a methodological approach the revision of the literature, the theoretical framework and the proposition of a didactic guide. As a result, we infer about the viability of the work with the linear diophantine equations in Basic Education, because it is an approach that rescues and resignifies mathematical contents studied in different years, privileging their integration during problem solving and thus contributing to the development of autonomy and mathematical literacy of the student.
