A arte indígena contemporânea: inserção do artivismo na escola pública como prática decolonial

Abstract

This master's research intends to present to elementary and high school teachers of the public school system, "Contemporary Indigenous Art", Indigenous Activist Art, which is known as Indigenous Artivism. This work is placed under a decolonial perspective in order to dispel prejudices and misinformation about the indigenous people of today, since they are propellants of manifestations of violence. The bibliographical research was conducted from academic works (theses and dissertations) available on the platform of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), as well as in books and web pages, in the period from 2020 to 2021, in order to observe content regarding contemporary indigenous artists, linked to Indigenous Activism and what comes to be called Indigenous Artivism. To reach the research objective, we have chosen the qualitative method to highlight works and artists who, through their activism and militancy, have stood out as important representatives of their ethnic groups and indigenous peoples in the contemporary scenario. We followed a path that began with a survey of the contents of school textbooks. Then, through the ancestral indigenous art, because we understand, after analysing the Activism, that the current art originates from and is based on its artistic and political text of resistance, rights and maintenance of their territories, the ancestral knowledge, mixing nowadays, in a hybrid way, with white technologies and supports. Only in this way can we glimpse the intention of their work and understand the meaning and content of the art text of Indigenous Activism. We partially analysed the contents about Indigenous art in the textbooks of our public schools. We exposed my didactics to approach the theme in the classroom presenting possibilities and difficulties. After this analysis and after this journey, we could finally reach the neologism Artivism and its artists, giving subsidy to the creation of a small catalogue that aims to support the knowledge about the theme and its artists. This research was a great opportunity to become aware of this form of contemporary art, effervescent, necessary, powerful and which, unfortunately, is being ignored by pedagogical materials in the permanence of the maintenance of an idea stagnated in the time of a primitive savage, reproducing the disinterest of a colonial thought in changing this fact verified by several authors such as Aníbal Quijano, Casé Angatu, Luis Roberto Andrade Quesada, Paulo Freire, Walter Mignolo, Ailton Krenak, Davi Kopenawa, Daniel Munduruku, Kaka Verá Jakupé, Daiara Tucano Eliane Potiguara, Sônia Guajajara, Jaider Esbell, Naine Terena and reiterated in this research.
