A revista O ENSINO (1920-1924): a instrução pública do Paraná nos ideais de César Prieto Martinez

Abstract

This thesis presents a study about the “paranaense” education in the beginning of the 20th century. The search aims to do an investigation through the pedagogical press from the ideals of General Inspector of Education César Prieto Martinez. For that, assumes itself as primary source the printed texts from magazine “O ENSINO”, copies from 1922, 1923 e 1924. On goal to analyze the ideological/pedagogical ideals from César Prieto Martinez in the magazine O ENSINO. Investigation that assumes itself as foundation theoretical-methodological the Historical Dialectical Materialism, to the comprehension and deepening of object this search, in the other words, the ideals of César Prieto Martinez in the magazine O ENSINO to the public instruction in Parana in the years of 1920 to 1924. In this deepening of concepts in theorical search in context that expressed discourse of economic modernization of Parana, as well as, the Brazilian nation, modernization, that attributes a primeval function to the education, which gave itself the responsibility, the overcoming of economic delay. This search takes place with the following methodological procedures: First it made the State of knowledge, the search and selection in dissertation bank and thesis as subsidy of discuss, so, stablishing a dialogue as it was produced while scientific knowledge of mathematic searched. According realized itself the survey of printed amid 1920 to 1924considering the “contradiction, mediation and totality”, phase that sought bibliographies of Martinez. Finally sought liberal authors, who based the originals texts written by César Prieto Martinez who demonstrated the incorporation of liberal principles in public instructions. The writing of thesis constitute itself in three chapters: in the first chapter explained the actions of modernization at First Republic in Parana in performance of General Inspector of study César Prieto Martinez between the years 1920 to 1924; in the second chapter, analyzed the ideal and ideological foundation of César Prieto Martinez in the printed of magazines O ENSINO; at last in the last chapter, sought the pedagogical ideals that founded the educational proposal of César Prieto Martinez published in the magazine O ENSINO in the years of 1920 to 1924. César Prieto Martinez in function of General Inspector of Education reformulated the publicinstruction “paranaense”, using the printed pedagogical, the magazine O ENSINO, as object ideological that materialized their ideals. Interconnect themselves in a set of demands of educational background to the capitalism, these reforms worked to the economic organization in worldwide tuning. The results of this study allowed conclude that the education in Parana in the early of 1920, was conducted by liberal actions present in the magazine O ENSINO, on purpose to mold the man to the labor, conditioned to useful purposes and immediate to the exploration of work. Emphasizing the antagonism among people said superior and inferior, in case, among white and black, inciting the division of classes, generating accumulation of wealth and consequently the impoverishment of workers, that put themselves in inhuman condition of misery, aggravating the social exclusion, reality that marked the beginning of 20th. century.
