Abstract
The selling of Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) has been closely watched and its use is either controlled or forbidden since last decade, due to the toxic risks it presents to the environment. Moreover, different researches have been seeking to develop or modify the extraction methods, as a result of the presence of these OCPs, so as to determine the compounds in several matrices. The current study aimed to assess the change of factors as though the amount of solvent mixture, the quantity of sorbents, the steps in the rotary evaporation alteration, and the addition of a partition at low temperatures using the QuEChERS extraction method, for application in fish muscle tissue. In order for the alterations in the method, were developed two stages of work, the first had two and three variables and the second was a univariate. A surrogate standart was adopted in all steps of the work to evaluate the recoveries and alterations obtained. According to the reached outcomes, the application of the chosen method has promoted a decrease in the amounts of solvent C18. Other results have been achieved, for instance, the reduction of the acetone/hexane mixture volume from 9,2 to 5,6 mL (1:1 v/v), as well as a turndown in the amounts of MgSO4, NaC1, and Na2SO4 sorbents, also the exclusion of the rotary evaporation process. The results obtained in the recovery of organochlorine compounds from fish tissue, through the QuEChERS extraction method, showed a result ranging from 95,89% - 96,47% after analysis. This study has drawn the conclusion that the use of low temperatures aids in the decrease of C18 amounts in the clean up part of the process. The volume of solvents has been decreased in addition to a turndown in the amounts of sorbents from the extraction. The rotary evaporation process showed itself useless and, in the end, the extraction time encountered a reduction.
