dc.description.abstractThe metabolic disorder Diabetes Melittus is characterized by high levels of glucose in the bloodstream and in the quest to understand how the glucose-insulin interaction happens, the article by Shabestari and collaborators (SHABESTARI et al., 2018) proposed a non-linear mathematical model based on a predator-prey model with cubic functions added, constituting a non-linear dynamic system of chaotic dynamics, verified by the calculated values of the Lyapunov exponents. The chaotic dynamics is analyzed through the bifurcation diagram and the diagram of the Lyapunov exponents in a certain range of model parameters, the main ones being a1, a7, a8 e a15 that represent, in that order, hypoglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes. Other analyzes performed were: Boxplot calculation to compare real data with data from the mathematical model; parameter space diagrams to characterize the dynamic behavior of the model; parametric perturbations to study the effect on dynamic changes in the model; attraction basin diagrams with and without parametric perturbations for the study of basin boundaries and calculation of the uncertainty exponent for boundary with fractal structure. It was verified that the chaotic behavior was suppressed for different amplitudes and frequencies of the perturbation. In the simulations, basins of attraction were discovered whose boundaries have fractal structures in the glucose-insulin system under parametric perturbations.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO distúrbio metabólico Diabetes Melittus é caracterizado por altas taxas de glicose na corrente sanguínea e a busca de compreender como a interação glicose insulina acontece, o artigo de Shabestari e colaboradores (SHABESTARI et al., 2018) propôs um modelo matemático não linear baseado em um modelo predador-presa com funções cúbicas adicionadas, constituindo um sistema dinâmico não-linear de dinâmica caótica, constatada pelos valores calculados dos expoentes de Lyapunov. A dinâmica caótica é analisada através do diagrama de bifurcação e o diagrama dos expoentes de Lyapunov em um determinado intervalo de parâmetros do modelo, sendo os principais a1, a7, a8 e a15 que representam, nessa ordem, hipoglicemia, hiperinsulinemia, Diabetes tipo 1 e Diabetes tipo 2. Outras análises realizadas foram: cálculo de Boxplot, para comparação de dados reais com dados do modelo matemático; diagramas de espaço de parâmetros, para caracterizar o comportamento dinâmico do modelo; perturbações paramétricas, para estudar o efeito nas mudanças dinâmicas do modelo; diagramas de Bacia de atração sem e com perturbação paramétrica, para estudo dos limites das bacias e o cálculo do expoente de incerteza, para fronteira com estrutura fractal. Verificou-se que o comportamento caótico foi suprimido para diferentes amplitudes e frequências da perturbação. Nas simulações, descobriu-se bacias de atração cujas fronteiras possuem estruturas fractais no sistema glicose-insulina sob perturbações paramétricas.pt_BR
