Formação de educadores e educadoras sociais na região dos Campos Gerais: experiências de extensão universitária na UEPG

Abstract

The research on Social Education and Social Pedagogy in the process of training Social Educators in the city of Ponta Grossa at the extension level corroborates the reflections and proposals regarding the quality of the training of professionals in the area of Social Education, having as object of study the training of Social Educators through university extension in the city of Ponta Grossa. In this way, this study aimed, as a general objective, to investigate the formative processes of extension through the extension course held in the city of Ponta Grossa in the year 2019. Also, as specific objectives, the research was based, firstly, on analyzing the extension course, by means of the results of the questionnaires and records of letters, indicating which elements coming from the students are essential for the formation of Social Educators in Brazil; as a second objective, it aimed to understand how extension courses can contribute to the formation in Social Education and Social Pedagogy; and, as a third objective, it sought to identify, in the materials resulting from the considerations of the students, subsidies to think about the formation of Social Educators in the country. The research subjects were the trainees who participated in the first edition of the Course for Social Educators in the city of Ponta Grossa and data collection was organized based on the course evaluation questionnaire and the letters that registered the participants' view on the course for Social Educators. For the methodology, the exploratory and documentary research used the collection, organization and categorization of data through content analysis, articulated with the perspective of the dialectical historical materialism of the Sardinian author Antônio Gramsci (1891-1937) to contribute to the data analysis and theoretical framework. Among the results, one can find the importance of the perspective and the power of representativeness of the participants of the first extension course for Social Educators in Paraná, especially in the city of Ponta Grossa. Finally, their notes brought elements that corroborate the reflection on the formation of Social Educators in its formative aspect, which may provide subsidies to contemplate aspects for the elaboration of future editions of the course for Social Educators in extension, including other formations in the areas of Social Education and Social Pedagogy, which need to be expanded in the country.
