Desempenho agronômico de híbridos de brócolis de cabeça única em função do espaçamento na Região de Ponta Grossa – PR

Abstract

Broccoli (Brassica oleraceae var. Italica) is a botanical variety of the species Brassica oleraceae, belonging to the Brassicaceae family. In recent decades there has been a significant increase in the consumption of single-headed and small inflorescence broccoli, due to the smaller family size. The objective of this work was to evaluate different plant spacing in hybrid production of single head broccoli under edaphoclimatic conditions in the Campos Gerais region. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with 4 replications, being evaluated four spacing between plants (0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 m) and three hybrids (Avenger, BRO 68 and Rumba) in a factorial arrangement. 4x3, totaling 12 treatments. Broccoli seedlings were grown in 200-cell expanded polystyrene trays using commercial substrate and transplantation was performed for experiment 1 on June 23, 2018 and for experiment 2 on February 5, 2019, when they presented 4 definitive leaves. Harvesting was performed when the plants reached their maximum development. The characteristics evaluated were: number of leaves per plant (NFP), fresh leaf mass (MFF), inflorescence fresh mass (MFI), inflorescence dry mass (MSI), inflorescence diameter (DI) and yield (t). There was no interaction between the factors for any of the analyzed variables. For fall winter cultivation (experiment 1) the Avenger hybrid was the most suitable for planting in the region, but under high temperature conditions (experiment 2), only BRO 68 obtained yield with satisfactory inflorescence yield in relation to to the others. For hybrids evaluated in both seasons, the larger the spacing between plants the greater the inflorescence size. The smaller the spacing the higher the productivity for both seasons.
