dc.description.abstractBioethanol produced from biomass is considered as a renewable fuel alternative with potential for fossil fossils, an important mechanism in mitigating the sources of gases responsible for the increase of the greenhouse effect. Starch is one of the promising sources for bioethanol production. The sweet potatoes (Ipomoea potatoes) for example, is an important source of starch. The aim of was to characterize the biomass of 10 sweet potato genotypes for bioethanol production. The experimental design used was randomized blocks, with 10 treatments (BD1, BD2, BD3, BD4, BD5, BD6, BD7, BD8, BD19, BD20) and 03 replications. The genotypes were cultivated in the municipality of Lapa, Paraná - Brazil, in the 2020 harvest. The variables analyzed were: root shape, surface defect, storage root cortex thickness, predominant periderm color, periderm color intensity, periderm secondary color, pulp color, predominant secondary pulp color, distribution of secondary pulp color, vine pigmentation, pubescence of the vine apex, length of the main vines, inter-node length of the vine, inter-node diameter, general leaf profile, type of mature leaf lobe, number of mature leaf lobes, mature leaf central lobe shape, leaf size, lower vein pigmentation, leaf color, immature leaf color, petiole pigmentation, petiole length, shoot fresh mass, root fresh mass, shoot dry mass, root dry mass and granule size of starch. It is concluded that the genotypes present distinct morphological characteristics for vegetative aerial and tuberous roots, and distinct characteristics for the size of starch granules. The genotypes with more potential for ethanol production are BD3, BD4, BD5, BD6, BD7, BD19, BD20.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO bioetanol produzido a partir de biomassa é uma alternativa de combustível renovável com potencial para substituir combustíveis fósseis, e um mecanismo importante na mitigação das emissões de gases responsáveis pelo aumento do efeito estufa. As culturas amiláceas são consideradas fontes promissoras para a produção de bioetanol. A batata-doce (Ipomoea batatas), por exemplo, é caracterizada como uma importante fonte de amido. Objetivou-se avaliar características da parte aérea e raiz de 10 genótipos de batata-doce para produção de bioetanol. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos aleatorizados, com 10 tratamentos (BD1, BD2, BD3, BD4, BD5, BD6, BD7, BD8, BD19, BD20) e 03 repetições. Os genótipos foram cultivados no município da Lapa, Paraná – Brasil, na safra de 2020. As variáveis analisadas foram: formato da raiz, defeito da superfície, espessura do córtex, cor predominante da periderme, intensidade da cor da periderme, cor secundária da periderme, cor predominante da polpa, cor secundária da polpa, distribuição da cor secundária da polpa, pigmentação da rama, pubescência do ápice da rama, comprimento das ramas principais, comprimento do entrenó da rama, diâmetro do entrenó, perfil geral da folha madura, tipo de lóbulo da folha madura, número de lóbulos da folha madura, forma do lóbulo central da folha madura, tamanho da folha, pigmentação das nervuras inferiores, cor da folha madura, cor da folha imatura, pigmentação do pecíolo, comprimento do pecíolo, massa fresca da parte aérea, massa fresca da raiz, massa seca da parte aérea, massa seca da raiz e tamanho do grânulo de amido. Concluiu-se que os genótipos apresentam características morfológicas distintas para parte aérea e raízes tuberosas, e características distintas para o tamanho de grânulos de amido. Os genótipos com maior potencial para bioetanol são o BD3, BD4, BD5, BD6, BD7, BD19 e BD20.pt_BR
