Abstract

This dissertation aims to present a sequence of teaching that brings together Statistics and Rural Education, for this A 9th grade elementary school class was chosen from Immaculate Conception State College, where they were developed the activities. The college is located in the municipality of Prudentópolis - Paraná and is considered the largest black bean producer in Brazil, so we tried to use this students’ families to motivate and make sense of contents covered in this work. The State of Paraná has a Field Curriculum, what is the orientation of the curricula of the rural schools, where institutions must develop the four Rural Education axes during the school year, based on this curriculum, a didactic sequence was designed and developed with the students. During this sequence, a questionnaire was elaborated where students collected data of families of students from other classes and thus elaborated tables and graphs, average, fashion and median, solve problems involving supplied quantities and simple three-rules and used as dispersion measures. In a second moment the retired students and interpreted data from the Secretariat of Paraná State Agriculture, relative to the price, to the planted area, production, among others, what are the expressions expressed by tables and graphs, analyzed the frequency distribution and applied the statistical concepts in their reality. We can observe that the students, when it comes to themes of their reality, presents interested and willing to develop as activities, This work evidences that it should always look for alternatives that let teaching and learning attract and thereby reach higher levels of learning.
