De médico a homem de cięncia : a Eugenia na trajetória de Aleixo de Vasconcellos no início do século XX

Abstract

No presente trabalho, é reconstruída a trajetória individual de Aleixo Nóbrega de Vasconcellos (1885-1961), acompanhando-o nos diversificados espaços sociais que ocupou e dando-se destaque às relações estabelecidas com outros atores sociais, grupos e instituições. Esforço este em meio ao qual procurou-se esclarecer de que forma teve contato e realizou a apropriação das teorias sobre a sociedade, especialmente dos ideais eugênicos, conforme se apresentaram nos trabalhos por ele produzidos, na forma de estudos, discursos, artigos, entre outros. O período privilegiado abrange desde sua infância, até o final da década de 1920, momento em que Vasconcellos defendia uma proposta singular de eugenia, na condição de chefe da Seção de Leite e Derivados do Ministério da Agricultura.

In this study, is reconstructed the individual trajectory of Aleixo Nóbrega de Vasconcellos (1885-1961), accompanying him in diverse social spaces occupied by him and by giving prominence to the relations established with other social actors, groups and institutions. In the midst of this effort which tried to explain how they had made the contact and ownership of theories about society, especially the ideals eugenics, as presented in the work he produced in the form of studies, speeches, articles, among others . The privileged period covers from his childhood, until the end of the 1920s, when Vasconcellos defended a proposal about eugenics, provided that he was the head of the milk and dairy products section of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture.
