Limites e possibilidades da participação do movimento estudantil da UEPG

Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify the limits and possibilities of the participation processes of undergraduate students belonging to the student movement (DCE -2019/2020) at the State University of Ponta Grossa - UEPG. As specific objectives were defined: to systematize the concepts and debates about Democracy and Political Culture; identify whether there is a debate on participation within the University, especially in the student movement (DCE); and understand how the participatory process of undergraduate students active in the student movement is built, represented here by the DCE - 2019/2020 management at the State University of Ponta Grossa. The need for research with this focus is considered, in order to create spaces for debate, dialogue and that provide opportunities for participation, always reaffirming the importance of democracy. With regard to methodological procedures, this research used exploratory, bibliographical and field research methodology with the application of a questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire was applied online using the Google Forms platform. To carry out the interviews, support from the Google Meet platform was used. This work is organized as follows: Chapter 1: Concepts and debates on democracy, civil society and participation; chapter 2: The practice of participation within the scope of the University and the Student Movement (DCE) and chapter 3: The limits and possibilities of the participatory processes of UEPG Academics from the Representation in the Student Movement - DCE - Management 2019/2020, presents if the collected data and analysis performed around them. The objective of this research was successfully achieved, making it possible during chapter 3 to identify the factors that highlight the limits and possibilities in the processes of participation of the target public of the research. As a limit, one can identify, in addition to other points, the low engagement in the participatory process and, as the main possibility, the understanding of the university as a democratic and participatory space.
