Os Espaços das Práticas Restaurativas como Ilhas de Liberdade: Aproximações da Filosofia de Arendt com os Fundamentos da Justiça Restaurativa

Abstract

In her work On Revolution, philosopher Hannah Arendt analyzes the main political events that have influenced "how we do" politics nowadays. Even though the spaces for doing politics are reduced, sometimes because the most urgent social issues take all the public space up, sometimes because the political space is reduced to a few subjects that exercise politics in the name of a representative democracy, there is still the possibility of small spaces where politics can happen: the Islands of Freedom. The Islands of Freedom, described by Arendt, point to the possibility of meeting free individuals who, after exercising their plurality, can act together, something that reminds us of the space thought of in the restorative practices. As a scientific method, a bibliographical review was chosen. Such research aims to demonstrate the democratic possibilities and citizenship presented in the course of restorative practices, configuring possible Islands of Freedom.
