Abstract
This research aims to answer the following question: how does the female body constitutes itself in spatiality regarding domestic violence in Ponta Grossa – PR? In order to answer it, we organized a data base within 256 domestic violence cases from Ponta Grossa‟s 4th Court of Justice (VIa Criminal). In order to understand the subjectivity of this phenomenon, we carried out eight semi structured interviews with women assisted by the assistance project Núcleo Maria da Penha (NUMAPE) and its content was organized by the use of Silva and Silva (2016) methodology, which relays in the dialogue between qualitative and quantitative data. The physical violence against women is partnered with psychological, moral, patrimonial and sexual violence. Women that look for the State as a conflict mediator are mostly poor and have a low level of education. Charges indicate that 92% of the cases involve people with intimacy, and most of the violence happens in the space of the house, representing 83,9% of the cases. The female body as a geographic space is in dispute by the male authority, and women resist and reappropriate it, as the denounces number grow.
